Executive & leadership coaching

 

Coaching transforms the practice of leadership, making the leader more effective and enabling them to achieve a greater impact.  It creates shifts in both the thinking and doing of leadership --- which greatly improves performance and  results.

 

At The Upward Spiral Group, we employ evidence-based coaching techniques that draw from the disciplines of neuroscience, positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, and adult learning theory.

Executive Coaching

Our executive coaching packages help organizational leaders and senior executives master their leadership skills and propel organizational achievement.  These highly-customized one-to-one engagements incorporate 360 feedback and assessment to help leaders tap into the data that will transform the way they lead.

 

Executive coaching is a valuable support for executive leaders who are navigating complex organizational changes, developing skills for an individual role transition, addressing behaviors that may be derailing their effectiveness, or resolving specific challenges in their organization. 

Leadership Coaching

Our leadership coaching packages are designed to support people, team or functional leads as they build their leadership capabilities, attune to their leadership strengths, and define their leadership style.  

We offer leadership coaching for clients who are transitioning from an individual contributor to a first-time people manager, leading their first team or function, or who are at a career inflection point and seeking to bolster their effectiveness.

 

Our group coaching programs provide organizations the opportunity to develop groups of leaders who share a similar stage of development.  Group coaching focuses on developing individuals through facilitated peer learning and collective exploration, creating deeper connections and actionable, long-term development. The group is organized around shared themes, topics or anchors.  

 

This cohort model offers organizations the benefits of scalability, facilitates culture change, makes behaviors stick, reinforces learning and builds internal capacity and knowledge.

Team coaching

Our team coaching engagements center on the work of a real team comprised of a team leader and their direct reports.  Our role as the team coach is to partner with the team to maximize their performance and enjoyment in support of a shared goal.

A team coaching process helps teams align around a common purpose, establish an inspiring vision, create healthy team relationships with clearly defined roles, be accountable for behavior as well as outcomes, and make constructive decisions in line with the team and organizational goals.  Team coaching is also helpful during periods of significant transition, such as welcoming a new manager or merging  two teams into one.
